Artists’ Wood Case Sketchbooks

Heidi and Rosanna needed new sketchbooks - sturdy enough to use outside, to lay flat and be filled with their own choice of paper for their favoured media. Heidi wanted to combine sketching and watercolour together which resulted in an innovative design. Rosanna preferred to use Arches Aquarelle for all of her artwork and a simple flip-over, wire bound A5 wood case was just ideal with a second lay flat, coptic stitch sketchbook giving her the flexibility she wanted. The icing on the cake was to be able to supply all three bespoke sketchbooks personalised with names laser etched and painted by hand on tactile wood covers. Nice!

Mary loved our ‘Lockdown Lawn’ Notebook with its Wildflowers and Grasses illustrations but wanted a purple cover, endpapers and ribbon to match - no problem!

Personalised custom long-stitched Cork Wrap Journal

Carolyn wanted a special gift for her friend’s big birthday - so everything needed to be right and delivered on time! Her friend’s favourite colour, shocking pink, needed to feature large in the design from the interior of the cork cover to the nine signatures containing a mix of blank and graph pages. The dark purple cork fabric cover was chosen to ‘hide’ the shocking surprise waiting inside and the turquoise waxed cotton thread and sari silk ribbon with personalised initial tile completed the finished journal.

Lay Flat Hard Case Book

Lynda, a very accomplished and prolific wildlife photographer, wanted her ‘Wild Birds of the Alentejo’ project bound into a lay flat book without stitching or folding. To get the most out of her beautifully designed combination of text and detailed photographs, this work first required printing onto a specialist paper - Graham recommended ‘Permajet Museum’. Lynda loved the texture and colour rendition this paper provided and returned with a finished set of pages for us to devise a special binding for this special book.
