Bindings
What makes a book a book? One essential element must surely be it’s binding. Not only is it an essential feature of any book but its very nature - decorative and functional - defines just what sort of book the book is contributing to its use as well as its appeal.

A Guest Book with signatures bound together by COPTIC STITCHING, one of the very earliest bookbinding methods and which allows the book to lie flat when open.

The JAPANESE STAB BINDING holds the pages securely and very attractively, especially when combined with our very own innovative hardwood stitching plates!

The modern ROUNDED SPINE binding emulates the very pleasing appearance of the traditional binding designed to accommodate the ‘swell’ of a hand sewn signature block.

Another Medieval technique the LONG STITCH binding joins the signatures directly to the cover with the exposed stitching often arranged in attractive patterns

WIRE BINDING is much used in industry and offices – it’s also incredibly versatile, allowing a book to lay flat and wrap over with ease – ideal for artists’ sketchbooks!

Our Eco-friendly BOOTLACE BINDING holds it all together on a shoestring(!!) with panache and style allowing a journal to expand or contact as required.

Simplicity itself, a RING BINDING lets you add, remove, replace or rearrange your journals content with the minimum of fuss - what's not to like?

Hard Case FLAT SPINE Binding with sewn signatures, endpapers, headbands and page marker ribbon - absolutely, beautifully classic!
