We have put together a course to help you create your very own book. Bookbinding is a particularly enjoyable, mindful and rewarding activity to learn and with our course you end up making something beautiful, unique and useful too!
Hosted in our warm and welcoming studio Bindery, this enjoyable and eminently practical course is ideal for beginners. It consists of a small number of relaxed sessions in which we will show you how to bind your very own A5 hard cover, flat back book from start to finish - from folding the pages to casing-in.
Right from the start the choices are yours. Your first decision is what combination of colourful bookcloths and printed paper sidings you would like for your cover design. We have a wide range to choose from and offer plenty of advice and help with your decision.
Then you can choose the actual contents of your book! Our Squeaky Binders range of in-house book blocks includes elegant Classic Notebooks - lined, squared and dots - and a Book of Days - a perpetual diary to remind you about all your important dates such as birthdays and anniversaries throughout the year.
Supplied with all the materials you need, the use of any equipment necessary and all the help you need from us - of course! - you’ll soon be making your book and what a delight to be able to create your very own hand bound book - something to treasure and most importantly, take away and actually use!

How long is this course? Our Squeaky Binders ‘Bookbinding Course’ consists of 8 hours of hands-on tuition including demonstrations, clear instructions and one-to-one support whenever you need a bit of help from us, your friendly, experienced and qualified tutors.
When does the next course start? Squeaky Binders offer a flexible approach to suit all our participants. You can undertake the course either as two hour sessions or as four hour sessions. Rather than have a calendar of set dates, which you may or may not be able to attend, we offer an ‘on-demand’ system. Let us know when you would like to start and we’ll do our best to arrange mutually agreeable dates for your course. Weekdays are best for us but weekends are possible.This gives you a huge amount of flexibility in when you attend especially if you are on holiday and also allows us to factor drying times into the course as well as practise time for you between sessions.
How much does the course cost?
You can choose to undertake this course on a one-to-one basis or as a member of a family group - you can even bring up to two friends at a discount price the choice is yours!
Prices are £420 for 8 hours of one-to-one tuition with all materials included.
For two participants - £360 per person. For 3 participants - £300 per person.
Family exclusive course - 2 adults with up to 2 children (12years +) - £720
